On our way to Ganesha Temple in Sawai Madhopur, India

June 3rd, 2008 by smoop

So, we had a couple hours to kill between Tiger Hunts in India and we asked to go see a fort that we had seen a mile or so down the road from our hotel. We climb in back of the jeep with our guide and head off. A few minutes later we are zooming past the fort we had seen without even slowing down. Turns out it was a resort.

Soooo, not for the first time on our Honeymoon, we are in a strange car, with two strange men, in a strange country, and we have NO IDEA WHERE WE ARE GOING. The REAL fort was several miles up a dirt road, then a mile up dirt stairs… then across the fort, there was the Ganesha Temple. That’s where this video was shot. It was a big holiday so there were thousands of people up there.

They all got up there using the same one lane dirt road as us. And home using that same road. Many, at the same time.

So, I’ve uploaded a ton (literally. I weighed them first.) of photos to flickr from the honeymoon as well as the wedding weekend. If you have photos from the wedding weekend – please at them to our group. I would love to see them all in one place! www.flickr.com/groups/sandmwedding/

See how productive I can be on Percocet! I should be on Percocet allllll the time! Also notice that I FINALLY fixed the lil retro side bars and updated the links and such. I know. Many of you would have been REALLY happy if I had done that before the wedding so you would have had a clue as to what was going on and where.

Heh.

Sorry.

We’re Back!

May 1st, 2008 by smoop

Here’s a short video we took in the Kerala backwaters in southern India. We had a big huge house boat, a navigator, a personal chef and a service person. All to ourselves. We woke up. We ate. We watched the water go by. We watched the people who live on the water. We ate more. Then ate more. Then… more. Then went to bed and did it all over again. It was AMAZING. We got off the boat twice in 48 hours. Once to see an 800 year old church – the other time to get a massage. Unless you ask Scott, then you would replace the word massage with “to get beaten up in the dark. With oil.”

I so lied.

There’s always room time for Disney! We are also registered at Disney’s Wedding Registry. I think we have to wait for something to be mailed to us to complete the registration and since I’m still waiting for the Disney Honeymoon CD I asked for like a month ago I have no idea how long it will take to arrive.

But the point is! I have set it in motion. My mommy will be proud!

We Are Registered

February 13th, 2008 by smoop

We have finally registered at Macy’s. We plan on registering someplace else as well, but we have no idea when we will have time. When we first set our date, people were all like;

March? ’08? Like? This year??

And we were all like;

Yes March ’08. This year. How long you think it takes to plan a wedding??

We now understand that year long engagement. This makes me freak out a bit.

But I look at it and smile!

In other news, you know how in the movies when a couple registers, they get a gun to run around the store shooting what they want? We ended up with something that was a cross between a taser and a blackberry. Not nearly as fun. But still fun enough that I recommend everyone go do it at least once! Even if you’re not getting married!

Happy Hour, Happy Birthday, Happy Pinups!

February 7th, 2008 by smoop

Happy Hits a Triple!

First off, thanks to everyone who showed up at Alembic last week!  As suspected, they did indeed have tasty cocktails, and some scrumptious bar snacks.  I’m sure we will be back, but probably not on a weekend.  It’s really hard to get stumbling, slurring, embarrassingly drunk when the bartender is hand crafting tasty cocktails and has a huge line of people waiting.  And even if the lack of a huge hangover is a good thing, the waiting in a huge line is not.

This week we will have Happy Hour in Two parts.

First.  Mona has her first photography show ever!  Thats right folks!  Now you don’t have to log in to the internets and give your cc info to see her pictures!  You can just walk right in, order a drink, watch some burlesque and look at the walls!  And! You can buy them!  And!!  You can meet the models and buy them (drinks)!  How can you turn that offer down?

Stormy Leather from 7:30 to 9:30pm Friday, Feb 8th
1158 Howard St
(between 7th St & 8th St)

More info can be found at
http://tinyurl.com/2tcfzv (don’t worry – it’s a Yelp link!)

Then, should that not win over your cold, cold heart, there’s more!  It is also Scott’s BIrthday!  Yup!  21 at last!  That means we have to take him to a bar!  And not any bar!  Absinthe! There we can also celebrate (Yah!  Celebrate!) the end of Prohibition with a couple of real absinthe cocktails.

Absinthe Restaurant & Bar
http://www.yelp.com/biz/absinthe-restaurant-and-bar-san-francisco
398 Hayes Street
(between Franklin St & Gough St)

We plan on taking over a corner of the bar starting about 10pm depending on how late things go at Stormy Leather.

Please RSVP so we know how many seats to save!

How do you like our new look?

January 19th, 2008 by smoop

Thanks to Posh Betty, the women who designed our wedding invites (which will be in the mail soon, I pinky swear) for giving me the graphics so that our web site will match our wedding invites!

I know! Those are some Fancy Pants!

So, here are some more FAQ:

Where are you guys registered? Um, yeah, we aren’t yet. We were planning on doing it this weekend, but we decided to be sick instead.

Why you guys wanna be sick so often? We don’t. It’s just an excuse to snuggle on the couch with the dog and exchange bodily fluids. Unfortunately that fluid is snot.

What is the theme of the wedding? Theme? Weddings have a theme? Isn’t the fact that we are finally getting married a fantastical enough theme? We need to have MORE of a theme?? Dress pretty, show up on time, and don’t drink so much of the free booze that you barf on the bride, give a twenty minute speech or other wise cause a scene. Hows that for a theme?

Wait? March of THIS year? Yes. This year. I’m begining to understand how crazy an idea this is, but luckily have found a wonderful women in Florida who is helping me… and feeding all of you. She’s helping me organize all the table rental, bartender, linen crappity that I didn’t even know needed to be organized. She has also promised the our servers will be good looking. Excccellent! I’ll post the menu here soon so you know what your signing up for when you check “steak,” chicken,” or “fish.” Ah yes, the wonders of the internets.

The Rings Have Arrived!

December 30th, 2007 by smoop

The Rings Have Arrived!!

Woot! Pictures soon. My engagement ring is a giant sparkling amazing … thing! A 1.1 carat cushion cut diamond with two princess cut diamonds on either side. Scott’s wedding ring is one of the first mens rings I’ve ever seen that I really loved. It’s not just a plain band, yet, not gaudy either. It’s very simple with a laser cut line around it and a princess cut diamond – to match mine.

Speaking of pictures – take note of the new links on the side of the page. Feel free to leave comments as long as they aren’t about my unfortunate hairstyles.

Hotel!

December 20th, 2007 by smoop

We have reserved a block of rooms for our guests in Florida. The hotel is right around the corner from club house where the wedding will take place – and right down the road from The Dove’s Nest where we will be having our rehearsal dinner on Friday night. We have negotiated a rate of $85 a night. Just call and say that you are reserving a room with the Coots/San Filippo wedding party.

Off to do all the other things that one is supposed to do for a wedding, although, I’m not sure what those things would be.
