Mona’s Birthday

First off, thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate my birthday last week! Even those poor souls who ended up at the right place at the wrong time. Wah! Sorry to have missed you! Also, thanks to everyone who brought gifts! And I think I speak for everyone when I say, Traci, thank you not only for the shirt you gave me, but the shirt you wore. :-))

We started out at Beauty Bar with some extremely well crafted cocktails and a bartender who apparently likes to do shots with birthday girls. Oh My. Off to a great start on an empty stomach. Then to Majool where, much to the horror of the waitstaff we tried – succesfully I might add, to pack like, 27 people into our reservation for like, 10. Majool is a great tapas place in the Mission with a must see rooftop bar. If you’re ever in the Mission on a sunny day with some time to kill, do check it out. Simply amazing views of the city to enjoy while you have a cocktail and a tasty snack.

BTW, Tapas on the roof top – Excellent. Tapas, after shots on an empty stomach… not the cure-all you would think it would be.

Afterwards we tried to pack ourselves into Doc’s Clock, but being that we had already been packed in all evening, we decided to look for someplace a bit less crowded, so on to Dope House! Several in our crowd were rather disappointed to find out that Dope House is not some cool little unknown dive bar, but… Arshad’s House which is more of a cool little unknown lounge. Excellent cocktail though!

Drinks were made. Paddy cake was played. Pictures where taken. And if someone could explain the picture on the blog this week, that would be swell.

So this week we are off to someplace new! First we have dinner reservations at Sneaky Tiki at 6:30. Please RSVP and let me know if you will be making it for dinner. I’m not sure these guys will be as jovial about 27 people showing up for my reservation for 8. They do offer apps in the lounge if you can’t make it at 6:30 or don’t want to do the full sit down dinner thing. Afterwards we will check out the bar at Sneaky Tiki, gather the non-dinner eaters, and head to Annie’s Social Club and possible Punk Rock Kareoke.

I remember it being taken. But I don’t remember why. I also remember waking up on my sofa, still dressed like the night before, surrounded by martini and scotch glasses of all shapes and sizes. And styrofoam plates.

Luckily, Mona had left her camera there, so I could fit together the missing pieces of the puzzle.

And imagine my astonishment, when I woke up for the second time, at 10am, with no hangover!
